IMB Bank Canberra Central is seeking a Branch Manager who blends lending expertise with strong people leadership to deliver outstanding member experiences. You will lead a high-performing team, coach staff, and build a vibrant local presence in the Canberra community.

You’ll drive home loan growth, manage the end-to-end loan process, and cultivate referral networks while ensuring compliance and service excellence across the branch.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in achieving lending growth and writing residential home loans from application to settlement.
• Leadership experience with coaching, motivating and developing teams.
• Experience within banking, financial services, or a customer-focused environment.
• Genuine passion for customer service and building long-term relationships.
• Strong business development and networking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive approach to identifying opportunities and supporting business growth.
• Sound understanding of operating within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive lending growth, build referral networks and create exceptional member outcomes.
• Managing the loan process from interviews, processing to assessment and approval.
• Serve member needs across in-person, digital and phone channels.
• Generate new lending opportunities through proactive business development.
• Lead, coach and develop a small team to achieve growth objectives.
• Create a positive, customer-focused culture to help more members own homes.
• Identify opportunities to support members and small businesses with lending and banking solutions.
• Build relationships with members, referral partners and local businesses.
• Manage day-to-day branch operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with colleagues across IMB network to deliver positive outcomes.
