Job summary

IMB Bank Canberra Central is seeking a Branch Manager who blends lending expertise with strong people leadership to deliver outstanding member experiences. You will lead a high-performing team, coach staff, and build a vibrant local presence in the Canberra community.

You’ll drive home loan growth, manage the end-to-end loan process, and cultivate referral networks while ensuring compliance and service excellence across the branch.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in achieving lending growth and writing residential home loans from application to settlement.

About the Role

This is a hands-on "lender leader" role where you'll be responsible for growing a successful local business by leading a high-performing team while making a genuine difference in your community. Responsibilities include:

• Drive lending growth, build referral networks and create exceptional member outcomes
• Managing the loan process from completing loan interviews, processing applications through to assessment and approval
• Being prepared to serve member needs how they want to engage with IMB; including local face to face members, digitally driven interactions and phone calls.
• Generating new lending opportunities through proactive business development activities
• Leading, coaching and developing a small team to achieve lending, deposit, service, business and employee growth objectives
• Creating a positive, customer-focused culture that helps more members achieve home ownership
• Proactively identifying opportunities to support members and small businesses with lending and broader banking solutions
• Building relationships with members, referral partners, local businesses and community networks
• Managing day-to-day branch operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk requirements
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the broader IMB network to deliver positive outcomes for members

About You

You are a relationship builder, lending specialist and people leader who is passionate about helping members succeed.
