Job summary

Calvary St Martin de Porres Retirement Community in Waratah is seeking a part-time Leisure & Lifestyle Officer to design, deliver and evaluate engaging activities for residents. You will run programs that support autonomy and joy while ensuring safety and inclusivity in a warm, supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Certificate Level IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Experience planning, implementing and evaluating activities for frail residents with cognitive impairment and disabilities.
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of residents' needs and interests.
• Strong communication skills and NSW Driver Licence.

About the role

As part of the Leisure and Lifestyle team you will ensure the design, development and implementation of special programs to meet the needs of residents, helping to provide quality of life and enjoyment whilst in care.

As Leisure and Lifestyle Officer you will conduct programs to support the autonomy and independence of each resident, by creating a fun and relaxing environment.

What you bring

• Leisure & Lifestyle Certificate Level IV or other relevant qualification
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities for frail people with cognitive impairment and disabilities
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs and interests of residents
• Strong communication skills
• Current NSW Drivers Licence
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
