Job summary

Calvary St Martin de Porres Retirement Community in Waratah is seeking a part-time Leisure & Activities Officer to design, develop and deliver engaging programs for residents, aiming to enhance quality of life and promote autonomy.

You will run activities that create a fun, relaxing environment while supporting individual needs, with qualification in Leisure & Lifestyle and current First Aid required.

Qualifications

• Leisure & Lifestyle qualification required or equivalent
• Current First Aid certificate required
• Experience planning and evaluating activities for frail residents with cognitive impairment
• Ability to document assessments and progress notes; strong resident understanding and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement special programs to meet residents' needs and enhance quality of life
• Conduct activities to support autonomy and independence and create a fun, relaxing environment
• Collaborate with the Leisure & Lifestyle team to deliver person-centered care

Skills

Strong communication skills

Current NSW Drivers Licence

Education

About the role

As part of the Leisure and Lifestyle team you will ensure the design, development and implementation of special programs to meet the needs of residents, helping to provide quality of life and enjoyment whilst in care.

As Leisure and Lifestyle Officer you will conduct programs to support the autonomy and independence of each resident, by creating a fun and relaxing environment.

What you bring

• Leisure & Lifestyle Certificate Level IV or other relevant qualification
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities for frail people with cognitive impairment and disabilities
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notesSensitivity to and understanding of the needs and interests of residents
• Strong communication skills
• Current NSW Drivers Licence
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
