Calvary Bendigo is seeking a passionate Leisure and Activities Officer to join the team on a permanent part-time basis at Calvary Mirridong, Bendigo VIC. You will coordinate engaging leisure and lifestyle programs to enhance residents' quality of life, bringing creativity and care to each interaction.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent qualification.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication.
• Experience planning, implementing and evaluating activities for frail people with cognitive impairment.
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes to meet requirements.
• Ability to engage with residents of all ages and abilities with trust and care.
• Willingness to work in a mission-based organisation.

About the role

We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Leisure and Activities Officer to join our team on a permanent part-time basis at Calvary Mirridong in Bendigo VIC. In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by coordinating and delivering engaging leisure and lifestyle programs. If you have a caring nature, excellent interpersonal skills, and a flair for creativity, we’d love to hear from you.

Both short-term fixed-term and permanent part-time opportunities available.

Your main duties will include:

• To respect every resident's individual character, personality and right to independence to continue an enjoyable, healthy and productive lifestyle.
• To develop formal and informal activity programs designed to improve and maintain the quality of life of residents.
• To provide social and recreational programs that meet the needs of the residents.

About you

• Certificate IV Leisure & Lifestyle or other relevant qualification.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
• Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities and programmes for frail people with cognitive impairment and other disabilities.
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes to meet legislative, funding and quality improvement requirements.
• Ability to work and communicate with people of all ages and cognitive ability and to obtain their trust and co-operation.
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation.
