Job summary

Block Earner is seeking a Legal & Compliance Officer to own the company’s legal, regulatory, and financial crime functions in Australia. Based in Sydney (on-site), you will drive contract drafting, licensing strategy, and AML/CTF program execution with direct access to the directors.

You will oversee external counsel, monitor regulatory developments, and design compliance frameworks to support growth in crypto-enabled lending and international expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) is mandatory.
• A second degree in Commerce, Business, or Economics is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in legal, compliance, or risk advisory.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate critical commercial agreements, including vendor and partnership contracts.
• Lead end-to-end licensing applications for AFSL and ACL.
• Manage external counsel and tax structuring as needed.
