Job summary

CoinFlip Preferred LLC is hiring an Compliance Officer to lead day-to-day AML/CTF operations across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the MLRO, you will drive licensing support, regulatory engagement, and risk-based due diligence, ensuring customer protection from scams.

You will monitor AUSTRAC and AFSL obligations, draft high-quality reports, and mentor junior analysts while collaborating with the wider compliance team in a hybrid Melbourne office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, law, criminology or related field.
• 4+ years AML/CTF experience in a reporting entity such as a bank, remittance provider, payments business or digital currency exchange/VASP.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CTF Act 2006 including 2024 amendments and AUSTRAC reporting obligations.
• Familiar with AFSL obligations, ASIC RGs and AFCA processes.
• Experience drafting SMRs/SARs and conducting complex financial crime investigations.
• Excellent written communication for regulators, executives, and non-specialists.

Responsibilities

• Investigate transaction monitoring alerts and document risk-based decisions.
• Perform CDD/EDD and source-of-funds reviews.
• Draft and lodge SMRs/SARs and PTRs within required timeframes.
• Monitor AUSTRAC conditions and AFSL obligations.
• Manage disputes and AFCA complaints; support audits and regulatory reviews.
• Prepare regulatory MI and reporting for senior management.
