Job summary

Block, Inc. in Australia seeks an experienced Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, Financial Services to join Afterpay ANZ.

You will lead the compliance risk management framework, oversee licensing, governance and regulatory relationships, and advise business units across Australia and New Zealand. Based in Australia with preference for Sydney or Melbourne, the role reports to the Head of Compliance for Afterpay ANZ and requires a strong track record in regulated financial services, BNPL, payments

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience as a compliance and risk professional in Australian financial services
• Experience building and maintaining frameworks to support regulated financial services products
• Knowledge of regulatory interactions, investigations and audits
• Expertise across regulated consumer credit, BNPL, payments regulation, licensing obligations, AML and related conduct controls

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Compliance to ensure the Compliance Function and the Compliance Risk Management Framework operates effectively
• Lead the Compliance Framework and Program, documenting and maintaining policies, standards, and procedures
• Maintain Afterpay's Australian Credit License, governance and ASIC reporting
• Manage monitoring, reporting, audits and testing activities including regulator interactions
• Oversee risk assessments for new financial products and initiatives to meet program requirements
• Educate the business on compliance risks and mitigation strategies
• Advise internal management on the implementation and operation of compliance programs
• Report on compliance risks, trends and key metrics
• Drive a strong risk culture in day-to-day decisions
