Job summary

Unsw in EVT HQ, Sydney, is seeking a Transformation Business Analyst for a 12 month fixed term contract. The role focuses on applying LEAN to simplify and standardise operations, map current and future processes, and identify automation or AI opportunities with the Data Engineering team.

You will lead improvement projects, spot waste and bottlenecks, embed standard work and report on benefits, while collaborating with stakeholders across front-line and senior leadership teams.

Qualifications

• Experience applying LEAN principles in an operational setting.
• Proven ability to map processes and value streams, and facilitate workshops.
• Practical experience running FMEA and acting on results.
• Strong analytical skills with clear data-driven recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management to influence across levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead LEAN improvement projects from diagnosis through implementation and benefits tracking.
• Identify waste, bottlenecks and variation and recommend practical solutions.
• Embed standard work so improvements stick and are repeatable.
• Assess automation or AI feasibility with Data Engineering.
• Create current-state and future-state maps (SIPOC and swimlanes).
• Develop value stream maps showing value-adding vs non-value-adding activity and lead times.
• Quantify opportunities using data, observations, and time studies.
• Run FMEA to identify risks and track corrective actions with owners.
• Support standards and audit programs by identifying recurring failures and root causes.
• Engage stakeholders from frontline teams to senior leaders and report progress.
