Job summary

BHP is seeking a Lead Mine Scheduling Engineer at Prominent Hill on an 8/6 FIFO roster, based in South Australia. You will lead underground scheduling efforts, coordinating with geology, geotechnical and operations teams to deliver feasible, long‑term plans aligned with site objectives.

The role combines hands‑on scheduling with leadership development, driving continuous improvement and technical capability within the scheduling team.

Qualifications

Expertise in underground mine scheduling within a production mining environment.
Advanced capability using Deswik software to optimise schedules.
Strong understanding of development sequencing, stope design and ventilation interactions.

Responsibilities

Lead and coach scheduling engineers for quality planning and technical excellence.
Develop and maintain integrated underground mine schedules aligned with operational goals.
Collaborate with geology, geotechnical, ventilation, operations and planning teams to ensure feasible schedules.
Provide technical leadership and apply innovative planning methods to improve outcomes.
Remain involved in Deswik scheduling activities while guiding the wider operation.
