Job summary

BHP Group is seeking Mine Scheduling Engineers for Prominent Hill on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Adelaide or regional SA. You will bridge mine planning and execution, creating practical schedules to drive safety and productivity in underground operations.

You’ll collaborate with operations, technical services, maintenance and planning teams, identify risks, and support continuous improvement across the scheduling spectrum. Training and development are available.

Qualifications

• Mining Engineering qualifications or a related discipline, or significant operational mining experience.
• Experience in underground hard rock mining operations, with exposure to mine scheduling and/or mine planning.
• Knowledge of sub-level open stoping mining methods and underground ventilation systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-term or medium-term underground mine schedules that align with longer-term mine plans and business objectives.
• Monitor schedule performance and adjust plans to respond to operational constraints, opportunities and changing priorities.
• Identify bottlenecks and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop practical solutions that support safe and efficient production.
• Facilitate and contribute to weekly planning and scheduling meetings.
• Coordinate activities across operations, maintenance, planning and technical services teams to ensure alignment and execution of the schedule.
• Identify and elevate scheduling risks, constraints and opportunities to support proactive decision‑making.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scheduling practices, operational efficiency and mine performance.
