Job summary

Ararat West Primary School seeks an experienced Leading Teacher - Wellbeing, Behaviour & Inclusion to commence in Term 1, 2027. The role involves flexible 0.6–1.0 FTE with potential small teaching allocation to support identified wellbeing needs.

The successful candidate will observe, model, coach and co-plan with staff to translate evidence and learner needs into effective classroom practice. You will work with the Principal and teams to strengthen universal practice, coordinate Inclusion

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of curriculum and literacy/numeracy planning.
• Ability to lead planning and evaluate teaching strategies for student growth.
• Ability to monitor learning, use data for improvement and feedback.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills across school community.
• Demonstrates department values in day-to-day practice and professional learning.
• Capacity to strengthen wellbeing, behaviour and inclusion across the school.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor wellbeing, behaviour and inclusion using MTSS.
• Lead Tier 1 routines, climate, and proactive responses with PL and coaching.
• Act as MHWL to promote school-wide mental health and pathways.
• Lead Disability Inclusion with DI Team, adjustments, and plans.
• Coordinate Tier 2/3 supports and external agency collaboration.
• Provide on-ground leadership and translate advice into practice.
• Analyse data to identify priorities and drive school improvement.
