Job summary

The Department of Education Victoria is seeking qualified teachers for Ararat West Primary School. The classroom teacher role covers Range 1 and Range 2 classifications, focusing on planning, preparation and delivery of programs to achieve student outcomes.

You will engage in high quality instruction, use data to inform practice, and collaborate with colleagues, parents and the wider school community to support learner wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching, guided by how students learn.
• Experience monitoring learning and using data to inform teaching.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to engage with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
• Undertake other teaching-related duties as directed.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
