Job summary

Ararat West Primary School seeks a Leading Teacher - Wellbeing, Behaviour & Inclusion to commence in Term 1, 2027. The role may be 0/6 to 1.0 FTE, reflecting school needs and MHWL responsibilities. At 1.0 FTE, some teaching allocation may be included to support wellbeing objectives.

This on-site leadership role focuses on improving wellbeing, behaviour and inclusion through coaching, modelling, collaboration and practical support for staff and students.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum requirements and implementation.
• Ability to lead high-impact teaching strategies and evaluate impact on learning growth.
• Strong data literacy to monitor student progress and inform practice.
• Proven interpersonal and leadership skills for working with staff, students and families.
• Experience in leading professional learning and school-wide improvements.
• Knowledge of wellbeing, behaviour and inclusion practices in schools.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and refinement of the school's multi-tiered wellbeing, behaviour and inclusion framework.
• Lead Tier 1 behaviour and climate practices through professional learning, modelling and coaching.
• Serve as the school's Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader (MHWL) with responsibility for mental health promotion.
• Lead Disability Inclusion in collaboration with the Principal and Inclusion Team, including adjustments and support planning.
• Coordinate Tier 2 and 3 supports for learners with complex needs with clear goals and review points.
• Provide day-to-day on-the-ground leadership, translate advice into practical supports for learners, staff and families.
• Analyse data on students, interventions and outcomes to drive school improvement.
