Job summary

Balambalam Primary School in Clyde North seeks a Leading Teacher to join the leadership team in 2027, focusing on wellbeing and inclusion. You will work with the Assistant Principals and Learning Specialist to strengthen inclusive practice and build teacher capability.

This role is a leadership position, with time allocated to school improvement priorities, professional learning communities and collaboration with families and the community to maximise student wellbeing and engagement.

Qualifications

• SC1 Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to lead school priorities across literacy and numeracy.
• SC2 Ability to lead planning and implementation of high impact teaching strategies responding to student learning needs, including synthetic phonics.
• SC3 Ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to lead improvement and provide feedback to students and parents.
• SC4 Exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills to foster collaboration with students, staff, parents and community.
• SC5 Model behaviours aligned with Department values and lead whole-school professional learning.
• SC6 Knowledge and skills in adjustments for disability inclusion and evidence-based interventions.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting the sub-school with guidance from APs and Learning Specialist.
• Build inclusive classroom practice through collaborative planning, coaching and modelling.
• Guide development and review of Individual Education Plans and Disability Inclusion processes.
• Support wellbeing and engagement, coordinating with families and the wellbeing team.
• Monitor attendance and behaviour to improve student participation.
• Use evidence to review outcomes and plan next steps within the tiered support framework.
