Job summary

PC Ability in Sydney is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to lead a new PBS service, building a varied caseload and delivering person-centred strategies aligned with NDIS.

You will collaborate with management, develop plans, assess needs, train staff, and ensure compliance with NDIS standards. A degree in related field and PBS registration are required; full-time preferred with flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

  • Must hold relevant degree in Psychology, OT or Social Work.
  • Registered as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Q&S Commission at Proficient level.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in PBS or NDIS settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current professional registration (e.g., AHPRA, SPA).

Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized, evidence-based behaviour support plans.
  • Conduct functional assessments to identify participant needs.
  • Collaborate with families and support teams.
  • Deliver training to staff and stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards standards.

About the Role

As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will:

  • Collaborate with management to drive the growth and development of the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team.
  • Develop and implementindividualised, evidence-based behaviour support plans in line with NDIS guidelines.
  • Conductfunctional behaviour assessments to identify participant needs and develop person-centred strategies.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and support teams to deliver sustainable and practical outcomes.
  • Deliver training to support staff and stakeholders, empowering them to implement behaviour strategies effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards standards through accurate documentation and reporting.
About You

To excel in this role, you'll bring:

  • A degree in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Must be registered as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at a Proficient level (or higher).
  • A minimum of 2 years' proven experience in Positive Behaviour Support or working with individuals within the NDIS framework.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with participants and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities to manage a varied caseload.
  • A proactive approach with a passion for empowering others and creating positive outcomes.
  • Current registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, SPA).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check, and Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (km reimbursement provided).
