Job summary

Ability WA is seeking a PBS Practitioner to join a highly regarded team in Coolbinia, WA. This permanent role offers flexibility to work across hub locations and from home, with quality supervision and strong governance to support your practice.

You will conduct functional assessments, develop person-centred plans, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure best-practice PBS delivery.

Qualifications

  • NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration (or ability to obtain suitability).
  • Experience as a PBS Practitioner or Allied Health professional transitioning into PBS.
  • Professional registration or association membership relevant to your discipline.
  • Experience supporting people with disability and complex needs.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication and report writing skills.
  • The right to work in Australia.
  • Willingness to obtain checks: NDIS Worker Screening, Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, Driver's Licence and First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in functional behavioral assessments across community and supported accommodation.
  • Write meaningful, person-centred behaviour support plans and support their implementation.
  • Provide PBS consultation and advice across internal and external services.
  • Support NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission compliance related to restrictive practices.
  • Deliver education and training on PBS best-practice topics.
  • Mentor team members where appropriate.

About the Role

As a PBS Practitioner, you'll work alongside customers and their support networks to engage in functional behavioral assessments; write meaningful, person-centred behaviour support plans; support implementation of the plans; and complete reviews when needed.

You’ll:

  • Work across community and supported accommodation settings
  • Collaborate with customers, families, multidisciplinary teams and community supports
  • Provide PBS consultation and advice across internal and external services
  • Support NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission compliance requirements relating to regulated restrictive practices
  • Deliver education and training on best-practice topics related to PBS
  • Mentor team members where appropriate
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current NDIS Commission registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (Proficient to Advanced is desirable), or the ability to obtain suitability
  • Experience as a PBS Practitioner, or substantial Allied Health experience with an interest in transitioning into PBS
  • Professional registration or association membership relevant to your discipline (where applicable)
  • Experience supporting people with disability and complex needs
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication and report writing skills
  • The right to work in Australia

You’ll also be willing to obtain required checks including NDIS Worker Screening, Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, Driver's Licence and First Aid.
