Job summary

Canva is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Embedded team within Production Engineering in Melbourne. You will guide a senior-leaning group across data protection, reliability, and scalable platform work, balancing influence with authority to drive meaningful outcomes.

You’ll shape how engagements run, mentor engineers, and push for reusable practices across Canva’s engineering org, while building a culture of psychological safety and growth.

Qualifications

• Led senior engineers and tech leads through complex work with autonomy.
• Experience in reliability, scalability and production risk in software environments.
• Able to earn trust and navigate cross-team environments to influence decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead Embedded team within Production Engineering.
• Influence and coordinate with multiple teams while maintaining technical bar.
• Set direction, coach senior engineers, and grow organizational influence.
• Define how engagements work and measure impact of Production Engineering.
• Build environments to enable engineers to do their best work and foster psychological safety.
• Drive adoption of engineering practices and reusable capabilities across Canva.
