Job summary

Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane – Cleveland QLD is seeking a Lead Educator (Group Leader) for the Junior Kindy program. This full-time permanent role (38 hours/week, Mon-Fri) focuses on leadership, teaching excellence and community connection within Star of the Sea Primary School.

You will guide the Junior Kindy program, mentor educators, and deliver engaging learning experiences that support children's development and school readiness.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care is essential.
• Current First Aid/ CPR/ Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates or willingness to obtain.
• Blue Card (Working with Children Check) is required.
• Knowledge of EYLF and NQS is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a high-quality educational program in the Junior Kindy room.
• Mentor fellow educators and support leadership in the team.
• Utilise non-contact time for planning, documentation and reflection.
• Engage with Practice Excellence mentoring for professional development.
• Build strong relationships with children, families and staff.
• Participate in ongoing professional development.

Job Requirements:

• Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or an ACECQA approved equivalent — essential for this role
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Mandatory Child Protection (Geccko) Course 1 & 2 — Course 3 & 4 optional but highly regarded
• A valid Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
• Previous experience in a lead educator or room leader role is highly regarded
