Job summary

Catholic Early EdCare in Cleveland is seeking a Lead Educator (Group Leader) to guide the Junior Kindy program, mentor fellow educators and deliver engaging learning experiences that support children's development and school readiness.

Based at our Star of the Sea Primary School service, this full-time role offers leadership opportunities within a connected school and parish community, with dedicated planning time and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care is essential for this role.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications are required (or willingness to obtain).
• Blue Card (Working with Children) is mandatory. EYLF and NQS knowledge are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a high-quality, inclusive educational program in the Junior Kindy room.
• Support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe and nurturing environment.
• Utilise dedicated non-contact time to plan, document, and reflect on the educational program.
• Engage with mentoring support from the Practice Excellence team as part of ongoing professional development.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
• Participate actively in ongoing professional and personal development.

Permanent, full-time | 38 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

Job Requirements:

• Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or an ACECQA approved equivalent — essential for this role
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Mandatory Child Protection (Geccko) Course 1 & 2 — Course 3 & 4 optional but highly regarded
• A valid Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
• Previous experience in a lead educator or room leader role is highly regarded
