Job summary

Churches of Christ is seeking a reliable Kitchen Hand for Fassifern Aged Care in Queensland. The role involves assisting with meal prep, serving meals, and upholding kitchen hygiene and safety standards in a residential aged care setting.

This casual position offers flexibility, 25% casual loading, and opportunities to contribute to a supportive, values-driven workplace. Immediate start available and SSO-ready for Australia work rights holders.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or hospitality (aged care experience desirable).
• Good communication skills and a respectful approach with residents and colleagues.
• Current Police Check or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work across day and afternoon shifts.
• Hold valid Australian Work Rights - we are not currently able to sponsor.
• Desirable Food Handling Certificate or similar qualification.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Looking for a hands-on role where you can make a real difference in people’s everyday lives? We’re seeking reliable and caring Kitchen Hands to support our Fassifern Aged Care Service, helping to create a safe and welcoming environment where residents feel at home.

• Assisting with meal preparation and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
• Serving meals and setting up / cleaning dining areas, trolleys and trays
• Following food safety, infection control, and workplace health and safety guidelines
• Cleaning and maintaining work areas to required hygiene standards

About You

You are someone who takes pride in your work and understands the importance of maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment in an aged care setting.

• Previous experience in catering or hospitality (aged care experience desirable)
• Good communication skills and a respectful approach with residents and colleagues
• Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to work across day and afternoon shifts
• Hold valid Australian Work Rights - Unfortunately we are not currently able to sponsor
