Job summary

Churches of Christ in Queensland invites applications for a casual Kitchen Hand at Fassifern Aged Care Service. You will assist with meal preparation, keep kitchens clean, and help serve meals in a friendly, safe environment for residents.

Ideal candidates have catering or hospitality experience, good communication with residents and colleagues, and are willing to obtain a Police Check. Australian work rights are required; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in catering or hospitality (aged care experience desirable).
• Good communication skills and a respectful approach with residents and colleagues.
• Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work across day and afternoon shifts.
• Hold valid Australian Work Rights - Unfortunately we are not currently able to sponsor.

About the Role:

Looking for a hands‑on role where you can make a real difference in people’s everyday lives? We’re seeking reliable and caring Kitchen Hands to support our Fassifern Aged Care Service, helping to create a safe and welcoming environment where residents feel at home.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with meal preparation and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
• Serving meals and setting up / cleaning dining areas, trolleys and trays
• Following food safety, infection control, and workplace health and safety guidelines
• Cleaning and maintaining work areas to required hygiene standards

About You

You are someone who takes pride in your work and understands the importance of maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment in an aged care setting.

• Previous experience in catering or hospitality (aged care experience desirable)
