Job summary

Marble Group in Western Sydney is seeking an experienced Production Drafter with strong PYTHA expertise to produce detailed 3D models and production drawings for bespoke joinery projects. You will collaborate with design, estimating and production teams to move concepts from plan to production-ready documents.

You will interpret architectural documentation, model in 3D, and ensure accuracy for fabrication on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Strong experience drafting for joinery, cabinetmaking or furniture manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and documentation.
• Excellent 3D modelling and technical drawing skills.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and detailed joinery drawings from concepts and architectural documentation.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details and manufacturing information.
• Ensure drawings are accurate and practical for manufacture in collaboration with production.
• Review designs and identify potential issues before production.
• Liaise with project teams, clients and stakeholders as required.
• Incorporate design changes and revisions throughout projects.
• Assist with site measures and reflect site conditions in production drawings.
• Work across a range of bespoke residential and commercial projects.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Production Drafter with strong PYTHA experience to join a well-established bespoke joinery business based in Western Sydney.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working on highly detailed, custom joinery projects and wants to be part of a stable team with a strong pipeline of work.

The Opportunity:

Working closely with the design, estimating and production teams, you will be responsible for taking projects from concept through to detailed production documentation.

PYTHA is central to the drafting and production process, allowing projects to be developed with a high level of detail and accuracy before reaching the factory floor.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing 3D models and detailed joinery drawings from concepts and architectural documentation
• Preparing plans, elevations, sections, details and manufacturing information
• Working closely with the production team to ensure drawings are accurate and practical for manufacture
• Reviewing designs and identifying potential issues before production
• Liaising with project teams, clients and other stakeholders when required
• Incorporating design changes and revisions throughout the project
• Assisting with site measures and ensuring site conditions are accurately reflected in production drawings
• Working across a diverse range of bespoke residential and commercial projects

About You:

You will ideally have:

• Strong experience using PYTHA
• Previous experience drafting within a joinery, cabinetmaking or furniture manufacturing environment
• A strong understanding of joinery construction and manufacturing processes
• The ability to interpret architectural drawings and documentation
• Strong 3D modelling and technical drawing skills
• The ability to work independently while collaborating with a close-knit team
• A practical understanding of what works on the factory floor
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
