Job summary

Trident IT is seeking an IT Technical Consultant to deliver projects and provide hands-on technical consultancy across Microsoft 365, Azure, infrastructure, and networking for client environments.

The role involves travelling to client sites (Brighton-based; not remote) and working within an MSP context to install, configure, migrate, assess systems, and transfer knowledge, with a focus on building strong customer relationships and delivering clear documentation.

Qualifications

About the Role

This is primarily a project delivery and technical consultancy role within an MSP environment.

You will work directly with clients to deliver technical projects, perform infrastructure upgrades and migrations, provide technical guidance, and help organisations get the most from their technology investments.

This role would suit an experienced 3rd Line Engineer, Project Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or existing Technical Consultant looking to further develop their consultancy and project delivery skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Microsoft 365, Azure, infrastructure, and networking projects.


• Install, configure, and migrate customer environments.


• Conduct technical assessments, audits, and health checks.


• Provide technical consultancy and best-practice guidance.


• Deliver customer training and knowledge transfer where required.


• Produce accurate technical documentation and project handovers.


• Support complex technical escalations when required.


• Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

About You

You'll have experience working within an MSP or IT services environment and be confident working directly with clients.

Experience in several of the following areas would be beneficial:

• Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive).


• Azure.


• Windows Server and Active Directory.


• VMware and/or Hyper-V.


• Firewalls such as Fortinet, SonicWall, WatchGuard or Palo Alto.


• Networking including VLANs, VPNs and routing.


• Backup and disaster recovery solutions.

You will also possess:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and customer engagement skills.


• The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.


• A proactive and organised approach to work.


• A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
