Job summary

Compnow in Melbourne is seeking a Level 2 Systems Engineer to provide hands-on technology support at customer sites, focusing on leave-coverage assignments and adapting to multiple environments. You will troubleshoot day-to-day issues, support Microsoft 365 and Azure, manage devices, and coordinate with service desk, project and engineering teams to deliver reliable IT solutions.

This full-time onsite role requires strong customer service and documentation skills, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Experience in desktop and infrastructure support, or systems administration.
• Troubleshooting across OS, apps and devices.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
• Exposure to Windows Server, Azure or hybrid infra.
• Familiar with networking, MDM, virtualization, or backup tech.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different environments and priorities.
• Disciplined documentation and processes.
• Able to work full-time onsite with short-notice.
• MSP/IT services experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do?

As a Level 2 Systems Engineer, you’ll provide hands-on technology support at customer sites, helping maintain reliable systems and resolve day-to-day technical issues. You’ll initially focus on leave-coverage assignments, moving between customer environments according to operational needs. This full-time role suits an adaptable support professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with customers and building broad experience across Microsoft, server, device and network environments.

What you’ll bring?

• Experience in desktop support, infrastructure support, systems administration or a related technical role.
• Practical troubleshooting capability across operating systems, applications and devices.
• Experience supporting Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
• Exposure to Windows Server, Azure or hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with networking, mobile device management, virtualisation or backup technologies.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder communication skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly to different customer environments and priorities.
• A disciplined approach to documentation and technical processes.
• Availability to work full-time onsite at customer locations, sometimes with as little as 24 hours’ notice.
• Experience in a managed service provider, technology reseller or professional services environment will be highly regarded.

What else do you need to apply?

• Travel on-site toour client sites across Melbourne.
• Must be an Australian resident available to work full-time hours without restrictions.
