Job summary

we.people has partnered with a fast-growing MSP and is seeking a Systems Engineer to support, maintain, and optimise client IT infrastructure from our Brisbane HQ. You’ll troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and ensure exceptional service delivery.

This role covers Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), backups, and security tools. A strong customer focus and solid documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT professional services as an IT Support Engineer, Systems Administrator, or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and support.
• Experience with Azure services, including setup, deployment and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), backup solutions, and security tools (firewalls, antivirus management).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, implement, and proactively engage with customers.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Microsoft certifications (Azure Fundamentals, MS-365 Certified Associate) or equivalent preferred.
• Must have current right to work in Australia without sponsorship.

This role is based at our Brisbane HQ, with the potential to undertake fly in fly out work to provide on-site support and build strong relationships across our project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regularly engage with customers to resolve issues and gather business requirements.

Key Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in IT professional services as an IT Support Engineer, Systems Administrator, or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and support.
• Experience with Azure services, including setup, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), backup solutions, and security tools (firewalls, antivirus management)
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, implement, and proactively engage with customers.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Microsoft certifications (Azure Fundamentals, MS-365 Certified Associate) or equivalent industry certifications preferred
• Must have current right to work in Australia without sponsorship
• Successful candidate will be required to undergo background checks and may need to obtain security clearances for certain client sites
