Job summary

SMA Australia is seeking a Technology Business Partner for a full-time role in its Large-Scale team. The role combines IT support across Sydney and Brisbane offices with hands-on project delivery in a hybrid work environment.

You will act as the local IT liaison, manage service requests, onboarding/offboarding, and lifecycle management of devices, while collaborating with regional and global IT teams to ensure secure, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• University degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• ITIL Foundation Certificate preferred.
• 3–4 years of relevant IT experience including hands-on 1st and 2nd level IT support in a large corporate environment.
• Experience delivering IT projects (e.g., Windows upgrade, telephony upgrade, office IT relocation).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows 11, Entra ID/AD, Intune/MDM, endpoint management; File Services a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd level IT support for SMA and Altenso offices, including devices, M365, network, mobile, printing, meeting room systems.
• Act as the local IT contact in Australia for incidents, service requests, and operational matters; manage requests in the ServiceDesk system.
• Support onboarding/offboarding and lifecycle management of IT equipment.
• Coordinate building access, electrical IT issues, meeting rooms, and liaise with HR as needed.
• Maintain records of IT assets and ensure proper deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
• Coordinate local network, internet, and workplace IT infrastructure with Global IT and external providers.
• Participate in and coordinate local and Global IT projects affecting Australian operations.
• Enforce IT policies, standards, and security requirements per Global IT governance.
• Promote self-service resources and train users in secure IT service use.
• Coordinate with external vendors on IT infrastructure, hardware, telecom, and related services.
• Provide updates on IT status, risks, and project progress to SMA and regional teams.
• Analyze IT issues and drive end-to-end resolution with APAC and Global IT teams.
