Derwent Search Pty Ltd is seeking an Interim Head of Technology for a 6-month engagement based in Sydney. You will own the IT roadmap, manage budgets, and lead the delivery of technology programs that support business growth, including data analytics and the transition to in-house IT support.

You will oversee NetSuite administration, data warehousing, and Power BI reporting, while coordinating external IT providers and driving AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on demonstrable NetSuite experience including admin, config and workflows.
• Proven track record as Head of Technology, Business Systems Lead, or similar in SMBs.
• Experience with data platforms and reporting (Power BI, Snowflake, Azure).
• Experience managing MSPs and vendor relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen and budget/contract management.

About Our Client
Our client is a private equity-backed infrastructure organisation. We are looking for an Interim Head of Technology for a 6-month engagement, based in Sydney. The role will focus on owning and optimising their core technology platforms and support continued growth.
The Role
This role will manage the IT roadmap, budget and delivery of technology programs that support the business through its growth, including process optimisation and readiness for the divestment of systems. You will be responsible for the administration of enterprise systems (NetSuite, Snowflake, Power BI), data and reporting, managed services and overseeing external IT providers in the day-to-day delivery of these.
Key Responsibilities

• Own the IT roadmap and budget and report progress to the executive team.
• Manage the NetSuite environment, including administration, workflows, customisation and enhancements.
• Maintain the data warehouse and Power BI reporting, and mature business analytics across all divisions.
• Manage the managed services provider relationship and complete the transition to in-house IT support.
• Be the point of contact for the business for all technology and data related issues.
• Support AI development and initiatives

What You'll Bring
To be considered for this role you must have hands on demonstratable experience with NetSuite, including administration, configuration and workflow management.
As well as:

• Proven hands-on experience as a Head of Technology, Business Systems Lead or similar in a small to medium-sized business.
• Experience with data platforms and reporting, such as Power BI, Snowflake or Azure Data Factory.
• Experience managing MSPs and vendor relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and commercial contracts.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with executives and non-technical staff.

This is a 6-month interim position. To be eligible, you must be based in Sydney, immediately available or on short notice and have full Australian work rights without restrictions for the duration of the contract.
