Job summary

Correlate Resources Pty is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to work across data, digital and technology initiatives in Sydney. The role focuses on translating complex business challenges into technical requirements and scalable data solutions within enterprise data environments.

You will map data flows, define future-state designs and collaborate with product, engineering, architecture and analytics teams to deliver data-driven capabilities.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years' experience as a Business Analyst within complex technology, digital, data or analytics environments.
• Strong SQL skills and experience analysing data structures and schemas.
• Experience documenting functional requirements and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with data platforms, data modelling and enterprise architecture concepts.
• Hands-on experience with APIs, system integrations and ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence and writing detailed user stories.

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join a high-profile Australian organisation operating across a dynamic digital and technology landscape, with significant investment in its data and analytics capabilities.
We are seeking a technically strong Business Analyst with experience working across complex data environments, digital platforms and technology-driven initiatives.
This role sits at the intersection of business, data and technology, translating complex business challenges into clear technical requirements and scalable solutions.
Working closely with product, engineering, architecture and analytics teams, you'll bring structure to ambiguity, map complex processes and help shape the future direction of data-driven technology capabilities.
The Opportunity You will play a key role in understanding how data moves across complex technology environments, identifying opportunities for improvement and translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
From mapping current-state processes and data flows through to defining future-state solutions, data models and integration requirements, you'll ensure technical teams have the clarity and documentation needed to deliver.

Key Responsibilities

• Map current-state (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) data flows, processes and system interactions.
• Facilitate discovery workshops with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, challenges and opportunities.
• Translate complex business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Develop process maps, data flow diagrams, data models, schemas and supporting documentation.
• Define data transformation rules, integration requirements and API specifications.
• Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects and technical teams to support solution design and delivery.
• Document business logic, data structures, dependencies and system requirements.
• Develop detailed user stories, acceptance criteria and delivery documentation using Jira and Confluence.
• Identify process inefficiencies, technical dependencies and opportunities to improve data capabilities.
• Maintain requirements traceability and ensure clear handover to delivery teams.

About You You are an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in enterprise data environments, digital platforms or complex technology programmes.
Ideally, you'll bring:

• 4–6+ years' experience as a Business Analyst within complex technology, digital, data or analytics environments.
• Experience working across digital platforms, data-driven businesses, technology consultancies or media-related environments.
• Strong experience mapping complex data flows and designing current-state and future-state processes.
• Hands-on SQL skills and experience analysing data structures and schemas.
• Understanding of APIs, system integrations and ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Experience documenting functional requirements, technical specifications and business logic.
• Familiarity with data platforms, data modelling and enterprise architecture concepts.
• Experience working with engineering, architecture, analytics and product teams.
• Strong Jira and Confluence skills, including writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
• The ability to bring structure to ambiguity and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Experience gained within digital businesses, media agencies, technology consultancies or organisations undertaking large-scale data transformation initiatives would be highly regarded.
Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery or AWS would also be advantageous.
You are naturally curious, analytical and proactive, with the technical credibility to work confidently alongside engineering teams and the communication skills to engage business stakeholders.
