Job summary

Launch Group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Lead to drive modernisation and automation of a complex hybrid infrastructure. You will lead hands-on engineering, shape IaC standards and guide tooling decisions while actively delivering technical solutions.

Ideal candidates have a strong infrastructure and automation background, with practical experience across Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V, Terraform, Ansible and Azure in enterprise settings.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Infrastructure Engineering or Systems Operations.
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server environments.
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V platforms.
• Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or similar IaC tooling.
• Experience automating provisioning, configuration management and workflows.
• Azure infrastructure experience in enterprise environments.
• Ability to lead while remaining hands-on.
• Comfortable driving automation initiatives.

We are partnering wiht a enterprise organisation is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Lead to drive the modernisation and automation of a complex hybrid infrastructure environment. This is a newly created opportunity focused on transforming traditional infrastructure operations through automation, Infrastructure-as-Code and modern engineering practices.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys building, automating and improving infrastructure environments rather than simply overseeing them. This role will suit someone who has come from a strong Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Automation background and still enjoys getting into the technical detail. You'll have the opportunity to shape automation standards, influence tooling decisions and lead engineering outcomes, while remaining actively involved in implementation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

About You

You are a strong infrastructure professional who has successfully evolved into automation and Infrastructure-as-Code, while remaining deeply technical and hands-on.

Essential Experience

• Strong background in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Operations.
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server environments.
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V platforms.
• Demonstrated experience building infrastructure automation solutions from the ground up.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code capability using Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or similar tooling.
• Experience automating server provisioning, configuration management and operational workflows.
• Azure infrastructure experience within enterprise environments.
• Ability to combine technical leadership with hands-on delivery.
• Comfortable being the technical driver of automation initiatives rather than operating solely in an architectural or managerial capacity.
