Job description

Some Infrastructure Manager roles are about keeping the lights on.
This isn't one of them.

We're partnering with a successful and growing organisation that is investing heavily in technology while navigating a significant period of growth, acquisition, and transformation. As the business continues to evolve, they're looking for an Infrastructure Manager who can help shape the future of the technology function, build capability, and drive meaningful outcomes.

This is a rare opportunity to join a business where you'll have direct access to senior leadership, genuine influence over technology decisions, and the ability to leave a lasting mark on both the infrastructure landscape and team capability.

Who Will Succeed Here?

This role is best suited to someone who has spent much of their career within small to medium-sized businesses rather than large enterprise environments.
You'll thrive if you're comfortable working in agile, fast-moving organisations where priorities evolve, decisions happen quickly, and leaders are expected to roll up their sleeves when needed.

You're the type of person who:
  • Enjoys building and improving rather than inheriting mature environments.
  • Has helped organisations navigate growth, transformation, acquisitions, or significant change.
  • Can move comfortably between strategic planning and hands-on technical leadership.
  • Sees inefficiencies and proactively improves them.
  • Takes ownership and drives outcomes rather than waiting for direction.
  • Enjoys leading people while remaining close to technology.
  • Values long-term impact and has demonstrated career stability and progression throughout your career.

The Opportunity Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll take ownership of the infrastructure environment across cloud, networking, security, identity, servers, storage, backup, and core platform services. You'll lead a team of System Engineers while helping evolve the technology capability to support future business growth.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and developing the infrastructure team.
  • Defining infrastructure strategy, standards, roadmaps, and best practices.
  • Driving operational maturity, scalability, security, and resilience.
  • Leading infrastructure projects, upgrades, integrations, and transformation initiatives.
  • Supporting acquisition and growth activities from a technology perspective.
  • Managing vendors, technology partners, and infrastructure investments.
  • Providing technical leadership during major incidents and business-critical initiatives.
  • Building a technology function capable of supporting the next phase of growth.
What You'll Bring
  • Experience leading infrastructure, systems, cloud, network, or technology teams.
  • Strong Microsoft technology expertise across Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Windows environments.
  • Broad infrastructure knowledge spanning networking, security, backup, disaster recovery, virtualization, and core platform services.
  • Experience working within organisations that have undergone rapid growth, transformation, acquisition, or operational change.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to provide technical direction when required.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness.
  • A track record of building capability, improving technology functions, and delivering business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated career tenure and progression, showing commitment and ownership over long-term initiatives.
  • Due to checks, you will be required to have an Australian Citizenship, NZ Citizenship or on a PR.
Why Join
  • Quarterly travel to see your team.
  • High-growth organisation continuing to invest in technology.
  • Direct exposure to executive leadership.
  • Opportunity to shape strategy and influence business outcomes.
  • Lead an established team with the ability to expand capability over time.
  • Professional, collaborative, and low-ego culture.
  • Strong staff retention and long-term career opportunities.

If you're an Infrastructure Leader who enjoys building teams, driving change, navigating growth, and getting hands-on when required, we'd love to hear from you.
