Job summary

Sims Limited is seeking a proactive WHS Advisor to support NSW operations. The role focuses on identifying risks, improving safety performance, and ensuring environmental and workplace health and safety compliance across multiple sites.

Office-based with regular travel to operations is expected. You will partner with site leaders to foster a strong safety culture, lead investigations, and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in a WHS/EHS advisory role within a highly industrial environment (manufacturing, recycling, logistics, heavy industry, mining, waste management, or construction).
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety risks, hazard identification, and risk management principles.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Experience undertaking and facilitating risk assessments.
• Experience managing workers' compensation and return-to-work processes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders and employees to promote a proactive safety culture across multiple sites.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Identify hazards and assess operational, environmental, chemical, physical, and process risks.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Develop, implement, and review WHS and Environmental Management Plans.
• Monitor and report safety and environmental performance across sites.
