Job summary

The Gadigal Centre at The University of Sydney is seeking a Student Success Officer to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students as they study. You will act as the first point of contact and work with a team to provide learning guidance, case-management, and cultural support.

You will also coordinate engagement events, facilitate interactions with peers, mentors and academics, and liaise with services to ensure students access needed support.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
• Demonstrated lived experience and engagement in Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities, and/or working with students.
• Computer skills, including MS Office and CRM systems.
• Experience working in tertiary education preferred, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning guidance, information, advice, and case-management support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
• Facilitate student interaction with peers, mentors and academics.
• Support student engagement events and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
• Liaise with Accommodation, Financial Assistance, Disability Services etc. to ensure services are utilised by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
