Job summary

Life Without Barriers Education in Dubbo is seeking a Teacher to deliver engaging, flexible learning for young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. You will work with Youth Workers to create an inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed learning environment that supports wellbeing, engagement, and successful transitions for students and families. This permanent full-time role commences January 2027.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in designing and delivering flexible learning options for disengaged or at-risk students.
• Skilled in differentiating instruction and adapting approaches for neurodivergent learners.
• High level communication with young people, families and stakeholders.
• First Aid certification HLTAID011 or willingness to obtain.
• Unrestricted Australian driver’s licence and ability to drive 12-seat vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging learning programs, including integrated, project-based learning, literacy and numeracy support, and individual learning plans.
• Create an inclusive, culturally responsive environment that supports wellbeing, engagement, and community connections.
• Apply trauma-informed practices to manage behaviours and promote positive outcomes for young people.
• Build and maintain relationships with students and their families to support participation and life skills.
• Work with teams and external agencies to provide coordinated support and smooth transitions.
• Maintain accurate records, meet compliance requirements and contribute to professional development and a safe learning environment.
