Job summary

Life Without Barriers Education in Bathurst is seeking a Teacher to deliver engaging, flexible learning for young people who are disengaged or at risk of leaving education.

You will work with Youth Workers to create an inclusive, trauma-informed environment, coordinating with families and community agencies to support transitions.

The campus model supports 15–20 students with a small team, commencing January 2027 on a permanent full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Education
• Active NESA accreditation or ability to obtain (per 2024 NSW Teacher Accreditation Manual)
• Proven expertise in designing and delivering flexible learning options for disengaged or at-risk students
• Skilled in differentiating instruction and adapting approaches for neurodivergent learners
• Strong communication with students, families and stakeholders
• Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
• Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence and ability to drive 12-seat vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging learning programs, including integrated and project-based learning, literacy and numeracy support, and individual learning plans.
• Create an inclusive, culturally responsive environment that supports wellbeing, engagement and community connections.
• Apply trauma-informed and therapeutic practices to manage behaviours and promote positive outcomes for young people.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with students and families to support participation, life skills and cultural identity.
• Collaborate with teams and external agencies to provide coordinated support and smooth transitions.
• Maintain accurate records, meet compliance requirements, and contribute to professional development.
