Job summary

Life Without Barriers Education in Mount Druitt is seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our permanent full-time team. You will deliver inclusive, flexible learning for disengaged students and support their re-engagement.

Working with Youth Workers, you’ll create a trauma-informed, culturally responsive classroom, build strong relationships with families, and ensure compliant, high-quality educational experiences.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Education
• Active NESA accreditation or ability to obtain (per 2024 NSW Teacher Accreditation Manual)
• Proven expertise in designing and delivering flexible learning options for disengaged students
• Differentiating instruction to support diverse learning needs, including neurodivergent learners
• Strong communication with students, families and stakeholders
• Knowledge or ability to acquire TAS curriculum requirements
• Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certification or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
• Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence and ability to drive 12 seat vehicles

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging learning programs, including integrated, applied, and accredited learning
• Create an inclusive, culturally responsive environment that supports wellbeing and engagement
• Apply trauma-informed practices to manage behaviours and promote positive outcomes
• Build and maintain strong relationships with students and families
• Work with teams and external agencies to provide coordinated support and transitions
• Maintain accurate records and meet compliance requirements
