Job summary

Life Without Barriers Education in Dubbo seeks a permanent full-time Teacher to deliver engaging, flexible learning for young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. You will work with Youth Workers to ensure an inclusive, trauma-informed environment that supports re-engagement and thriving.

Each campus supports 15–20 students with 1–2 Teachers and Youth Workers, under supervision from school principals and the Life Without Barriers Education team.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Education.
• Active NESA accreditation or ability to obtain (per 2024 NSW Teacher Accreditation Manual).
• Proven expertise designing and delivering flexible learning options for disengaged or at-risk students.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for neurodivergent learners.
• Strong communication with young people, families and stakeholders.
• Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Driver's licence and ability to drive 12-seat vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging learning programs, including integrated and project-based learning.
• Create an inclusive, culturally responsive environment supporting wellbeing and engagement.
• Apply trauma-informed and therapeutic practices to manage behaviours.
• Build and maintain relationships with students and families to support participation.
• Collaborate with teams and external agencies for coordinated support.
• Maintain records and participate in professional development and compliance.
