Job summary

Mondiale VGL Pty is seeking an experienced Import Sea Freight Operator in Sydney to coordinate shipments from load port to final delivery, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery.

You will work with shipping lines, overseas agents, brokers, and client teams, tracking imports, verifying documents, and maintaining up-to-date records in IC and CargoWise One CW1 to support smooth customs clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in import sea freight operations within freight forwarding or logistics.
• Strong working knowledge of IC, CargoWise One (CW1), and other freight management systems.
• Familiarity with sea cargo automation processes and common system-related issues.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Track shipments from origin to destination and flag delays early.
• Chase and verify documents: Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists, and permits.
• Update milestones in IC and CargoWise One to keep records accurate.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, overseas agents, customs brokers, the Fleet and Accounts teams, and clients.
• Identify and mitigate issues to limit impact on clients and business.
• Ensure compliance with local and international customs, import/export, and maritime requirements.

Job Description

We’re on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Import Sea Freight Operator to join our dynamic team and help keep international cargo moving smoothly. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our sea freight import operations, coordinating shipments from load port to final delivery and ensuring every movement is accurate, efficient, and delivered on time.

What your days will look like:

• Tracking shipments. You’ll follow imports from origin to destination, spot delays early, and keep people in the loop before they have to ask.
• Chasing and checking documents. Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, import permits: you’ll request them, verify them, and make sure nothing holds up customs clearance.
• Keeping our systems accurate. You’ll work in IC and CargoWise One, updating milestones and keeping shipment records clean so the whole team can rely on them.
• Working with a lot of people. Shipping lines, overseas agents, customs brokers, our Fleet and Accounts teams, and clients all need to be on the same page, and you’ll be the one keeping them there.
• Fixing things early. Customs delays, document errors, misrouted cargo: you’ll see them coming, take ownership, and find a way through that limits the impact on our clients and our business.
• Staying compliant. You’ll make sure every shipment meets local and international customs, import/export, and maritime requirements, including sea cargo automation.
• Staying steady when it gets busy. Peak periods bring tight deadlines and plenty of shipments at once. You’ll stay organised and calm, and keep service levels on track.

Qualifications

Your Expertise
