Job summary

Gebrüder Weiss GmbH in Sydney is seeking an Import & Export Operator to coordinate international air and sea freight and customs activity. You will work with customers, overseas offices, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure shipments move efficiently while delivering excellent service.

Requirements include at least 2 years of international freight forwarding experience, CargoWise proficiency, and solid knowledge of import/export processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' hands-on international freight forwarding experience.
• Strong knowledge of import, export and customs clearance processes.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Register and monitor pre-alerts, and keep customers and brokers updated on arrival and clearance details.
• Collect and verify customs clearance documents and submit them to brokers.
• Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate and received on time.
• Track and trace cargo movements and provide customers with regular shipment updates.
• Process consolidator and shipping line invoices into the accounting system.
• Achieve KPIs for service, productivity, compliance and customer satisfaction.

Come aboard and take the next step in your freight forwarding career! We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, detail-focused Import & Export Operator to join our international freight forwarding team in Kingsgrove.

In this role you will coordinate international air freight, sea freight and customs activity, making sure shipments move efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service. You will work closely with customers, our overseas offices, carriers and customs brokers.

Key responsibilities

• Register and monitor pre-alerts, and keep customers and brokers updated on arrival and clearance details.
• Collect and verify customs clearance documents and submit them to our brokers.
• Make sure all shipping documentation is accurate and received on time.
• Track and trace cargo movements and provide customers with regular shipment updates.
• Process consolidator and shipping line invoices into our accounting system.
• Achieve operational KPIs for service, productivity, compliance and customer satisfaction, and support the team in meeting its service and profitability targets.

About you

At least 2 years' hands-on international freight forwarding experience.

Demonstrated experience with CargoWise.

Sound knowledge of import, export and customs clearance processes.

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform under tight deadlines.
