Job summary

Devon Meadows Primary School in Victoria is seeking a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and teach programs that achieve clear student outcomes. You will engage with students and families to support learning, and contribute to school priorities.

The position emphasizes high quality literacy and numeracy instruction and data-informed practice. You will work with colleagues in collaborative teams, mentor student teachers, and participate in professional learning to continually improve teaching.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice and provide feedback.
• Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and community.
• Behaviours consistent with Department values and commitment to ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contributing to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching and organizational duties as directed by the Principal.
• Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
