Job summary

Maryborough Education Centre, in Victoria, seeks an experienced classroom teacher to contribute to the school program beyond classroom teaching. You will deliver curriculum, use high impact teaching strategies, and engage with parents and the wider community.

The role requires teaching a range of students while participating in professional learning and school policy development. Strong literacy and numeracy focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
• Demonstrated experience planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student growth.
• Demonstrated experience monitoring student learning and using data to inform teaching and communicate progress to students and parents.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the wider school community.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas and school programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related duties as directed by the principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties and mentor student teachers.
