Aboriginal Land Council NSW – Broken Hill NSW is seeking an experienced Project Officer to support the Far Western Zone's strategic projects. The role provides essential admin and project support to Local Aboriginal Land Councils, helping strengthen governance, enhance capacity and deliver priorities.

The position involves developing policies, reporting frameworks and internal controls, requiring organised, communicative professionals with a commitment to Aboriginal communities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to undertake diverse functions within policy and organisational frameworks.
• Excellent oral and written communication including negotiating capabilities.
• Experience or ability to acquire knowledge in policy formulation, implementation and review relating to Aboriginal people.
• Sound understanding of project management and financial literacy.
• Ability to travel across the Zone and support Local Aboriginal Land Councils.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering strategic projects and initiatives across the Far Western Zone.
• Provide administrative support to Senior staff and Local Aboriginal Land Councils.
• Develop and monitor reporting frameworks and internal controls for efficient operations.
• Support governance strengthening and capacity-building for LALCs.
• Organise and facilitate NSWALC training packages including governance training.
• Ensure compliance with NSWALC funding agreements and timetables.
