Job summary

Hoban Recruitment is seeking a Customer Service Operator for their Bankstown office to support clients in the freight industry. The role is full-time with hybrid work options after a 6‑month probation.

You will maintain client portfolios, process orders, update shipment statuses, and coordinate with networks to ensure smooth operations. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in international freight forwarding, general freight forwarding training, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in international freight forwarding.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• General freight forwarding training completed.
• Own reliable transport available.

Responsibilities

• Maintain portfolio of clients as assigned.
• Maintain client work instructions and request changes with client implementation for SOP amendments.
• Handle monthly/quarterly rate maintenance for key customers as directed by Account Managers.
• Manage order status and in-transit reports for clients.
• Document all customer shipping inquiries and update clients on shipment progress.
• Monitor network import shipments between overseas origins and destinations.
• Communicate between clientele and networks.
• Take corrective action to prevent recurrence of non-conformances.
• Record training and complete a skills inventory.
• Review customer purchase orders and resolve outstanding issues.
• Communicate with clients and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist with other tasks as required by supervisor/manager.
