Job summary

Legal Aid NSW is recruiting People Services & Support Advisors at Clerk Grade 7/8, ongoing and temporary roles based in Sydney. The salary starts at $116,981 plus super. You will deliver frontline HR advice, triage enquiries, and support onboarding, payroll and employee administration.

You will work in a modernising People & Culture team, using HR systems and case management tools to help managers and staff navigate policies and processes with clarity and care.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR advisory, employee services, HR operations, payroll administration, shared services or a similar service environment.
• Ability to manage a high volume of work without losing accuracy or customer focus.
• Ability to explain HR processes clearly and practically.
• Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline HR advice to managers and employees across the employee lifecycle.
• Manage frontline HR enquiries through approved service channels.
• Coordinate establishment and organisational management activity, including position and reporting line updates.
• Support onboarding, commencement, payroll-related and employment administration processes.
• Maintain HR systems, case records and establishment data for payroll accuracy and audit readiness.
• Work with Talent Acquisition, Business Partnering, Employee Relations and Payroll teams to provide a connected service.
