Job summary

Suncorp is seeking a Fleet Underwriter in Adelaide CBD with hybrid WFH options. The role focuses on ongoing underwriting operations, risk discipline, and contributing to the Commercial Portfolio Strategy within the State Underwriting team.

You will develop intermediary relationships, deliver strong service, and improve underwriting processes across policy renewals, new business, and mid-term adjustments. You will work with brokers and distribution colleagues to grow relationships, drive income,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Insurance Industry experience.
• Ability to influence the commercial Broker and Adviser insurance market.
• Active involvement in appropriate industry groups.
• Understanding of relevant Insurance products, industry, market environment and reinsurance structures.
• Underwrites at an advanced level in accordance with Risk Appetite, Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA), Underwriting Guidelines and Business License.
• Use technical product knowledge to set terms and conditions and determine acceptability against risk appetite.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with stakeholders or brokers to understand key business drivers and grow relationship and income.
• Identifies and works with relevant stakeholders or brokers to close gaps in existing relationship network.
• Drives business objectives by developing productive long-term relationships with customers/stakeholders through rapport, influence and negotiation.
• Build relationships with the end client.
• Leads, attends and networks at industry events/meetings/functions.
