Job summary

Powercor in Bendigo is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide engineering design across distribution, sub-transmission, and substations. You will scope, design, estimate projects and contribute to asset management in line with policies and standards.

You will verify designs, develop design standards, apply drafting techniques for plans, and prepare cost estimates while considering safety, OH&S and customer requirements. Flexible working options and a supportive team are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and eligible for NER/RPEng or already registered.
• Knowledge of distribution design principles and procedures.
• Familiarity with GIS, AutoCAD design and electrical networks.
• Understanding of Safety in Design practices and compliance with standards.
• Experience with asset management and cost/resource estimation.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective engineering design and advice for underground lines, overhead lines and substations to standards.
• Verify designs produced by others in line with Safety in Design and company requirements.
• Assist with development of design standards and policy in line with regulatory needs.
• Apply drafting techniques to produce substation and distribution plans.
• Prepare cost and resource estimates for design components in a timely manner.
• Support and implement new or modified processes and systems.
• Provide technical mentoring to design personnel in Design management.
