Job summary

Hall & Wilcox in Perth seeks an Associate or Senior Associate to join the General Insurance team. The role focuses on defending general liability claims with opportunities for development and progression, working with top insurers.

Based in our Perth office, you will advise on casualty, property damage and product liability matters, including appearances in WA District Court and Supreme Court, with a hands-on, collaborative environment and access to national resources.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of post-admission experience advising on defendant insurance matters.
• Experience in personal injury and general liability preferred.
• Willingness to transition from plaintiff background.
• Ability to manage files and run matters through court proceedings.
• Autonomous and team-oriented.
• Excellent drafting and communication skills.
• Strong prioritisation and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing documents and preparing evidence.
• Drafting correspondence to Court and third parties.
• Conferencing with witnesses and preparing witness statements.
• Preparing briefs for Counsel.
• Drafting Court documents and attendance at Court.
• Drafting client advice.
• Drafting letters of instruction to experts.
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and other team members.
