Job summary

Hall & Wilcox in Perth invites an Associate or Senior Associate to join our General Insurance team. The role focuses on defending general liability claims in casualty, property damage and product liability, with regular appearances in WA District and Supreme Courts.

We offer a hands-on role with development opportunities, hybrid work, flexible leave and supportive colleagues. You will review documents, draft court material, mentor juniors and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• minimum of 4 years of post-admission experience advising on defendant insurance matters
• experience in personal injury and general liability is preferred
• ability to manage files and progress matters through court proceedings
• strong drafting, analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

• reviewing documents and preparing evidence
• drafting court correspondence and letters to third parties
• conferencing with witnesses and preparing statements
• preparing briefs for Counsel
• drafting court documents and attending court
• drafting client advices
• drafting letters of instruction to experts
• supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
