Job summary

Hall & Wilcox in Brisbane is seeking a Lawyer or Associate to join our national General Insurance practice. You will manage your own files, with supervision from experienced partners, focusing on property/construction recoveries and first-party insurance matters.

You will handle client strategy, coordinate with a team of lawyers, review documents, draft Court filings and client advices, and prepare witness statements and briefs for counsel. Strong drafting and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of post-admission experience in general insurance law.
• Experience in property/construction recoveries and liability defence for insurers.
• Day-to-day management of files and running matters through court proceedings.
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers or paralegals is well regarded.
• Strong teamwork orientation and a can-do attitude in defendant insurance law.
• Excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organisational abilities.
