Job summary

Fluence is seeking an experienced field service engineer for battery energy storage systems. You will perform on-site maintenance of BESS, HV, MV and LV systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and oversee HV switching operations in a safety-conscious environment.

Role requires communicating with project managers, commissioning teams and stakeholders, maintaining records, and supporting commissioning and ongoing system optimization. Travel to project sites is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service, inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on BESS and related HV, MV and LV systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues using appropriate diagnostic and testing tools.
• Conduct and oversee high-voltage switching operations in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including HV switching records, maintenance logs and permit approvals.
• Identify and address potential issues proactively to minimize system downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Provide technical support during commissioning, including testing, validation and optimization of new BESS installations.
• Collaborate with project managers, commissioning teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and handover.
• Work with internal teams to prepare reports, develop maintenance schedules and update technical documentation.
• Stay current with industry standards, regulations and best practices relating to BESS operations and HV systems.
